On Vox: Yakuza Moon: A Memoir
Giant Robot and Flavorpill highly recommended the book but I found it to be only mildly interesting.  It was however a really easy read and I finished it within three days while on the stationary bike at the gym.  Many of the chapters ran together like one long and hazy dream with little insight into the characters or storyline. That being said, the blunt prose and harsh details around drug addiction, sexual abuse, depression and poverty propelled me forward. The author never received a formal education and even apologized in the book's afterward about her junior level of writing.  Not exactly an elegant read but it's a touching glimpse into a life gone wrong.
